LeBron Raymone James is an American professional basketball player. He plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and is considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time with the likes of Michael Jordan.
He has won 19 ESPY awards, four NBA Championships, three All-Star MVP awards, two Sports Emmy Awards and two Olympic gold medals.
“King James” as he has been nicknamed, has competed in ten NBA finals, eight consecutively between 2011 and 2018. Freshman year at St Vincent- St Mary High School basketball team, LeBron James averaged 21 points and 6 rebounds per year. That was the beginning of his exploits in the world of basketball.
As a sophomore he averaged 25.2 points and 7.2 rebounds. He was also named Ohio Mr Basketball and selected to the USA Today All-USA Frist Team. James also played for the St Vincent- St Mary’s football team, helping to lead the Fighting Irish to the state semifinals.
In 2003, LeBron James was selected during the NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He swiftly created a name for himself as one of the top players in the league, winning the NBA Rookie of the Year award in the 2003/2004 season.

LeBron Raymone James was born in his hometown of Akron in Ohio, USA on December 30, 1984. His mother, Gloria Marie James, had him as a teenager and didn’t have much to sustain the family as his father, Anthony McClelland, was constantly involved in crimes and didn’t contribute to raising him. After a long struggle and several relocations from one apartment and neighborhood to the other, Gloria let James live with a local youth football coach who introduced James to basketball when he was nine years old.
His first true attempt was playing the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball for the NorthEast Ohio Shooting Stars.
