Angelina Jolie Voight is an American actress born on June 4, 1975. She is one of the most successful and highest paid Hollywood actresses and a recipient of several laurels and awards in Hollywood and in other humanitarian sectors.
Jolie is widely known for her role as Lara Croft in the popular action movie “Lara Croft : Tomb Raider” which was widely loved and later adapted into a game.
CAREER LIFE
Angelina Jolie’s first appearance on screen was in 1982 at age seven, on the movie “Lookin’ to Get Out” where she acted alongside her father, Jon Voight. She didn’t land any other major roles till 1993 when she appeared in “Cyborg 2”. Two years after that, in 1995, she got her first lead role in a Hollywood movie in “Hackers”.
In 1996, Jolie starred in “Love is all there is” and also appeared in “Mojave Moon” for which The Hollywood Reporter gave a good review. In 1996, she played Legs in “Foxfire” and starred with David Duchovny in the thriller “Playing God” (1997). She then featured as a frontierswoman in the CBS miniseries “True Women” in the same year. EARLY LIFE
Angelina Jolie was born in Los Angeles, California, on June 4, 1975 to Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand. Her father is of German and Slovak descent while her mother is French-Canadian. Both her parents are actors and belong to a larger family of actors and entertainers. Her brother and only sibling, James Haven, is also an actor. Angelina Jolie’s parents got separated a year after she was born; alongside her brother, she grew up with her mother who had a film-maker partner named Bill Day.
In 1981, the family moved to Palisades, New York. She attended Beverly Hills High School and Moreno High School and at both schools, she was picked on and didn’t have a very happy social life. When they returned to Los Angeles in 1986, Jolie signed up at the Lee Stratsberg Theatre Institute where she learnt acting for two years.
While living with her mother, at about 14 years, she had a live-in boyfriend whom she engaged in punk lifestyle and knife-play with. She dropped out of her acting classes.
